Local journeys

Trips to the gymkhana, pony club, clear round jumping, or vets are often the horse owner's or their horse's first experience of travelling. LOC International understands that no matter how long or short the journey is, it is important that the experience is a happy one for all.

So whether you or your horse are first time travellers or seasoned professionals, use LOC for your short haul, local trips.

• All drivers and grooms have the DEFRA Certificate of Competence
• We carry fully equipped first aid kits and electrolytes, hay and water on the lorry
• We have CCTV on board for constant monitoring of your horse
• Special diets and health problems are catered for (with advance notifcation)
• Extra time and care is taken with young, nervous or untrained horses
• We will transport any equine, anywhere including; donkeys, mules, Shetlands, Shires, race horses, gymkhana ponies, dressage horses and mares to stud

Crossing the channel

LOC International regularly transport horses across the channel for racing, competitions, stud and sale.

Horses travelling by ferry do so in the horse box or trailer being used for the rest of the journey.

If you want to take your own horse box across the channel LOC will be happy to advise you and can offer competitive rates for cross channel ferry fees.

International flights and shipping

LOC International regularly arrange for horses to travel by plane or ship to Europe, the United States and across the world. We are experienced in dealing with the paperwork required and will be able to supply you with any forms you need, plus guidance on how to complete them.

When travelling by plane, horses are loaded into special containers, specially designed to meet their needs. During the flight they will be attended to by a groom who is experienced in handling horses during plane travel. LOC will advise you on how to kit your horse out for the flight and our grooms will make any necessary adjustments before your horse transfers from road to air transport.
